The Mortgage Loan Closing Coordinator will prepare mortgage files for clear to close and/or final submission to investor while managing loan closing timeline and adhering to closing expectations. Protect the Credit Union against loss by reducing the potential for loan buy backs and funding rejections by completing a thorough and timely loan review on each and every file.

DUTIES

Review DU findings and ensure all information is accurate and consistent throughout loan origination software, automated underwriting software and all other investor software. Review required documentation provided by the member or third party vendor to ensure each mortgage file meets investor guidelines. Identify all errors or inadequacies in the file and work with appropriate parties to resolve all outstanding issues. Resubmit loan file to underwriting for final approval. Work with appropriate parties to resolve any additional documentation request as identified by the mortgage underwriter.Coordinate loan closing with member, title company, and investor; Request loan closing document packages, review loan closing package and deliver to title company. Verify loan closing is complete and documents have been fully executed.Fund the loan and complete the wire request ensuring funds are properly received and disbursed by the title company.Audit closing package and deliver completed loan package to post closing department, and assist, as necessary, with post-closing personnel in obtaining trailing documents.Delivering loan file to third party investors as necessary.Prepare, present and verify reports as requested by management. Review and validate assigned vendor invoices. Create new reports and checklists as needed at the direction of management.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. College degree in related field preferred. Minimum 5 years real estate lending experience. Financial institution or title company experience preferred. Working knowledge of lending policies and procedures, regulations, internal guidelines and third party guidelines. Thorough knowledge of real estate lending including compliance issues, state and federal regulations.Strong analytical skills and decision making ability to make lending decisions and translate guidelines.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high volume, work environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills.Good organizational skills to manage loan closing process.Strong time management skills required.Possess a complete working knowledge of mortgage loan underwriting concepts, techniques, terminology and regulatory guidelines.Ability to work independently and as a team.Excellent negotiating and problem solving skills.Secondary market experience a plus.Must have strong computer skills, with an emphasis on desktop underwriting and other web-based loan platforms.
