Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and responding to claims of breach of representations and warranties of residential mortgage contracts to ensure loans were closed in adherence to established guidelines at time of origination. May include validation of income, assets and credit/liability documentation to support origination underwriting decision. Evaluates findings and provides claim recommendations based on the merits of the file and facts. Responds to internal and external audits/inquiries and recommends Client actions arising from the review. May be involved in one or several types of mortgage lending (conventional, government-backed, etc..). Position involves participation in various projects in addition to claim reviews.
Requires at least 3-5 years experience in residential mortgage loan underwriting, compliance, forensic underwriting, mortgage loan repurchases, quality control audit reviews or loan origination.
Able to identify, review, and analyze loan origination documents including but not limited to credit reports, title reports, 1003s, appraisals etc.
Broad experience with various loan types including Sub-Prime, Non-Conforming, and Conforming
Proficient in MS Office applications including, Word, Outlook, and Excel
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient in developing and articulating persuasive arguments
Excellent time management skills with an emphasis on quality
Flexible with change
Complex problem solving skills
