ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May be responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and disciplining staff members. Evaluates staff members productivity and progress.
Documents warning notices when policy has been violated and may discharge staff members when necessary.
Responsible for the coordination as well as the delegation of duties to all staff members under his or her direction.
Assists with and coordinates special events or functions. Responsible for the coordination of daily group movements arriving or departing the Motel.
Performs duties related to a guest relations manager by handling complaints or requests for guests.
Maintains a close relationship with those individuals and contacts deemed important to the operation.
Receives and follows through on any letters and phone calls directed to the property, as required.
Performs sales calls as preparation and training for manager position.
Assumes responsibility in all departments where heavy workload exists. Areas may include, but are not limited to: Front desk, room reservations, maintenance, housekeeping department, and restaurant and lounge where applicable.
Responsible for assisting Motel Manager in the scheduling of front desk clerks or driving/ bellman staff.
Responsible for displacing one to three shifts per week as directed by the Motel Manager.
Performs requirements of weekly room inspections to check cleanliness and maintenance condition of guest rooms and hotel.
Helps in preparing End of Month reporting.
Maintains records and other documentation on staff members.
Holds regular staff meetings for the purpose of continued training and proficiency.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related supervisory experience in Motel Industry preferred
