Mount Vernon Presbyterian School seeks an innovative and collaborative Lower School Science teacher for the 2013-2014 school year. Candidates should have attained a degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or Science; master’s degree or beyond is preferred. Versatility, collaboration, and openness to innovative instructional practices are essential. Availability to sponsor athletic, artistic, or academic clubs is a plus.

This is an exciting time to be a part of Mount Vernon as Head of School Dr. Brett Jacobsen launched 13 different initiatives during the last three years. An innovative example unique to Atlanta independent schools, MVPS opened The Center for Design Thinking during the 2010-2011 school year. Based on a model developed by Stanford University Institute of Design, MVPS Lower School students identify real world issues, collaborate through research, test their results, and produce prototypes to impact the world. Students go D.E.E.P. in the i.Design Lab.
