Specific Job Description
This exciting position offers an excellent opportunity to provide expert contracts leadership to the Undersea Systems Marion (i.e., LM Sippican, Inc.) business. The Contracts Sr. Manager will be a key member of the USS Contracts leadership team and will be responsible for a fast-paced, diverse business portfolio, and direct management of 8 Contracts professionals. This critical role will require partnering with the site General Manger, Business Development staff, Finance and Legal on a variety of US government, international (direct & FMS) and commercial contracting issues, and in establishing and executing upon strategies to grow the Marion portfolio. The Contracts Sr. Manager will position Marion to win new business while maintaining compliance with company policies/procedures as well as expected financial results (EBIT, cashflow, etc.). In addition to supporting the Marion business, the Contracts Sr. Manager will have leadership responsibility for certain elements of the USS portfolio in Syracuse, NY.
This position requires proficiency in identifying potential risk in contract terms, quantifying the impact, and developing comprehensive mitigation strategies. The Contracts Sr. Manager must be familiar with program-based and product-based contract management techniques, and must demonstrate full knowledge of contract interpretation, bid preparation, claims, modifications, protests, amendments, extensions, nondisclosure agreements, teaming agreements, intellectual property and OCI mitigation. Excellent business acumen and outstanding oral and written communication skills are also required. The selected candidate will be skilled in analyzing capture opportunities, developing terms and conditions positions, and articulating the positions with supporting documentation to management. Further, the Contracts Sr. Manager will play a lead role in the proposal development process, and present issues and risks, along with their mitigations, to USS Senior Leadership Team, including Executive Planning Panels (EPP's) and Program Reviews as necessary.
This position in located at LM Sippican in Marion, MA, however, consideration will be given to candidates in Syracuse, NY who are willing to travel to Marion on a frequent, regular basis to support business needs.
