Under direction, this position is responsible for developing and authoring interactive multimedia programs; developing multimedia presentations and computer graphics; working with team(s) of faculty, content experts, instructional design specialists, media producers, and production staff to develop multimedia programs and systems related to curriculum development; prepare graphics, text, and media for on-line and networking services; perform other related duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Develop and author multiplatform interactive multimedia programs, which include tracking, testing, and scoring of student performance. b. Incorporate a number of elements into multimedia programs, by digitizing a variety of media sources, creating graphics, creating fonts, and creating graphical user interfaces. c. Assist in the development of interactive multimedia flow chart designs. d. Develop multimedia presentations for a variety of settings and for multiplatform distribution. e. Design and create computer graphics to be incorporated into print, multimedia and video. f. Prepare graphics, text, and media for on-line networks and services. g. Maintain software and computer system network for non-linear editing and computer graphics system. h. Render graphics and video effects to video and electronic media. i. Act as a multimedia consultant to faculty and staff and provide in-service training on multimedia technologies and applications. j. Assist in preparing training plans and instructional materials for training classes, keeping up with industry news and trends. k. Oversee the installation, testing, and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of network peripherals, computers, and software. l. Recommend systems and programming standards, security, and quality assurance procedures; assist in the definition and projection of future needs and requirements. m. Write systems specifications or documentation for development of instructional support applications. n. Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of: 1. Computer based training, specifically interactive multimedia technology and authoring systems/languages. 2. Multimedia strategies for interactive training programs and a variety of advanced technological applications used for training (flowchart/linkage design). 3. Systems used for integrating hardware and software packages to design and deliver courseware. 4. Multimedia technical standards required for national multimedia distribution. 5. Software programs for video graphics, video non-linear editing, and video effects programs. 6. On-line and network systems and software.

Ability to: 7. Develop multimedia interactive programs for multiplatform distribution. 8. Assist in the development of multimedia flow charts. 9. Design and program multimedia presentations incorporating a variety of media. 10. Design and create computer graphics for a variety of mediums. 11. Assist in designing, organizing and implementing in-service training plans and train others in networks and multimedia system applications. 12. Render graphics and effects to video and electronic media. 13. Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct software and hardware for use on interactive video systems. 14. Liaison with vendors regarding hardware and software needs; troubleshoot and recommend modifications. 15. Create systems specifications for interactive multimedia technology applications. 16. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 17. Organize workloads and meet deadlines. 18. Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the performance of job duties and to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team.
Education and Experience: 19. Completion of at least two years of college-level education directly related to business information systems, computer science, or data processing. 20. Four years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of computer science, preferably in multimedia instructional computer support activities. 21. Or, any combination of education and experience that would provide the required qualifications.

Conditions of Employment:
$67,533 (Step 1) - $84,583 (Step 5)/Annual Salary Range E-65

Pay Philosophy: Starting salaries for support staff positions begin at Step-1 of the salary range. Employees hired prior to April 1 of each year will move to the next step on the upcoming July 1. Employees hired on or after April 1 of each year will move to the next step the following July 1. All movement on the salary schedule will occur July 1 of each year for all classified employees.

This is a regular, full time, 12 month per year position. The normal hours of work are to be arranged between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.
