The MySQL Engineering and Operations teams are responsible for every facet of the design, deployment, and support of all IT production MySQL database environments. At Go Daddy we highly leverage MySQL on Linux, not only as a back end to the world’s largest shared hosting environment, but also business-critical applications and products such as Hosting, Email, DNS, and PKI (SSL certificate signing/support).
In this role, you will:
Support existing MySQL systems in one of the worlds largest MySQL environments
Design solutions for our MySQL database infrastructure, then supporting Operations in their use
Assist development teams with performance tuning and query optimization
Develop automation tools for monitoring, performance and capacity planning
Troubleshoot complex issues as they arise and resolve in a timely manner
Consult on various projects within the organization
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation as 2nd level support
What do you need to do this job?
5+ years experience with Linux
2+ years experience as a MySQL DBA
Experience with MySQL replication setup and configuration
Experience with InnoDB, MyISAM and other storage engines
Ability to troubleshoot and performance tune Linux and MySQL
PHP, Perl, or Python development experience required
Bash scripting experience required
Ability to manage priorities in a fast paced changing environment
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
LAMP application development experience a plus
MySQL DBA and Developer certification a strong plus
Previous 24x7 experience a plus
