Job Summary

Job Title: IP Network Architect

TDS Telecom is looking for a technical leader with strong business and communication skills to join our Network Architecture Team. The Network Architecture Team guides the technical evolution of TDS Telecom's Service Provider network by defining the future network technology that will deliver TDS services to our customers.

Key responsibilities include:
Creating architecture recommendations and documentation that will guide long-term network infrastructure, technical initiatives, and new product deployments.

Working closely with TDS Product Development teams to develop new revenue-generating products.

Providing detailed technical and process guidance to Lab/Integration, Engineering, and Operations Teams.

Monitoring industry technology and product trends.

Partnering with existing vendors and watching the market for new vendors and products.

Coordinating RFIs and RFPs to select new products.

Key Skills:
Technical - This is a highly technical position and requires current, expert-level network knowledge and the ability to keep up with a rapidly changing industry.

Be Bold! - Comfortable making long-term and potentially expensive recommendations.

Work independently - Coordinate complex projects with minimal guidance. Coordinate multiple vendors and resources from a number of internal departments.

Communication - Ability to successfully present technical recommendations to audiences ranging from TDS Leadership to entry-level technical resources.

Team Building/Mentoring - Address concerns and build consensus. Provide technical guidance and training. Assist other team members to build their technical, communication, and business skills.

***PLEASE NOTE: This position is posted at a Network Consultant, but can be hired in at a Senior Network Specialist based on skill/experience based on hiring managers discretion.***

Qualifications

Senior Network Specialist

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher AND 6+ years of large scale experience in Voice/Data/Video networking-OR-10+ years large scale experience in Voice/Data/Video networking.

Network Consultant

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher - AND - 8+ years large scale experience in Voice/Data/Video networking -OR- 12+ years large scale experience in Voice/Data/Video networking.

Other Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of IP, MPLS, Ethernet, QoS, and IP Applications (VoIP and/or Video) .

CCIE certification is a plus.

Experience designing, building and/or operating complex service provider IP/MPLS core and/or IP/Ethernet transport networks.
