Developer Advisor Senior or Solutions Engineer Advisor Senior may be hired at either title depending on skills and experience. Open to Indianapolis, and Harrisburg, Syracuse or Louisville locations
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for utilizing information technology to analyze, design, implement and maintain very complex components of information systems that support business operations.
Participates in the definition of both functional and non-functional requirements of a system and defines the development strategy, standards and support tools
Performs technical design reviews and code reviews.
Writes source code, adapts existing components, compiles, links and tests the developed components as units creating test stubs and test data as necessary
Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.
Translates business requirements into implementation process by considering all alternatives and implementing the best strategy to ensure design meets performance, usability, reliability and scalability requirements
May be involved in the strategic decisions around application development in the organization.
Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings
Ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan
Assesses current status and supports data information planning
Coordinates on-call support and ensures effective monitoring of system
Assist group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
Participates in vendor evaluation
Facilitate the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.
Some project management tasks including planning, estimating, status reporting and scope management.
Programming Technologies: VB.NET & C# for .NET 2.0 or higher (3.5 preferred), WPF/XAML, WCF, LINQ, Java, Visual Basic 6, ASP.NET, Legacy ASP, SOAP, XML, ADO, DAO, C++, Iron Python, and Perl.
Programming Types: Client/Server, n-tier, Windows services, web services, SOA, multi-threaded, and web based.
Database Technologies: Design, management and tuning for SQL Server (thru 2008), SQL Server Compact and Mobile editions, and Oracle. Experienced with SQL, T-SQL and PL/SQL query languages.
Tools: Rational Tool Suite (Clear Case, Clear Quest), MS Office products including Access
Requires BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training; 5 more years’ related experience in application development; multi platform experience; expert level experience with business and technical applications, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experienced with mentoring others, lead multiple small projects and provide troubleshooting support. Multi database and/or multi language preferred. Expert knowledge of analysis, design, coding and testing concepts required Demonstrates a mastery of leading edge technologies and leverages that knowledge when making strategic decisions. Demonstrates an ability to set direction, generate a sense of purpose, and inspire others to work in an optimum manner to achieve desired outcomes.
