The LiveOps Network Operations team seeks a technically talented and driven individual to join our Network Operations team. As a NOC Engineer, you will be part of a team chartered to support LiveOps’ mission critical services offering high service and network availability to our customers. We’re looking for a person with the right blend of technical depth, breadth, experience and process awareness to handle the day-to-day responsibilities of the NOC team. A positive attitude and the ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast paced environment are essential in this role. Good organizational skills and self-discipline is also required to balance the NOC duties and team projects that are focused to continually improve and evolve the support and services we offer to our customers.
Primary point of contact for Incident Management
Gatekeeper for the management of changes to the site
Detect, triage, document, fix, escalate all site incidents
Build strong and effective working relationships with Engineering and Service Management organizations
Work to develop proficient understanding of all critical LiveOps Platform application and services
Proven ability to lead and facilitate conference calls to address site incidents
Effectively prioritize site incidents based on service and customer impact
Ticket queue management
Ability to take on side projects that’s focused on NOC stewardship
Keen eye on the creation/modification on runbook documentation
Ability to evangelize and champion the change/problem process while supporting the changing needs of the business
Process focused; provides input to help improve/build processes
Flexibility to work any shift(Day, Swing, Grave)
Minimum Job Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in CS or equivalent Technical experience
1-3 years in a fast paced, high transaction NOC or Operations environment
1-3 years supporting web based applications
1-3 years MySQL, Linux Systems Administration
Working knowledge of Change and Problem management methodologies
Working knowledge of networking technologies
Working knowledge of monitoring technologies(Nagios, MRTG, Solar Winds, etc)
Proficient scripting skills(Perl, PHP, Bash), Ruby programming experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to communicate with audiences of all levels
Extremely fast learner with Superb troubleshooting and analytical skills to solve complicated systems and application issues quickly
Able to work independently with minimal supervision but focused on delivering results
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to manage multiple projects and communicate plans and statuses broadly and effectively
