We are currently seeking a NOC Technician who will be responsible for maintaining network integrity and equipment monitoring across the entire Broadview Networks footprint.

Specific accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Test, troubleshoot, and repair network circuits from (56k, T1, DS3, STS1, to OC48)

Identify and prioritize circuit repair issues in accordance with established procedures

Maintain vendor and carrier escalations and communication towards resolutions.

Provide fluid and informative reports to Upper Management during outage scenarios.

Maintain a working log of actions and testing completed during outage scenarios.

Providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to all internal customer facing repair agencies working customer specific problems on services provided over our network infrastructure

Requirements:
Knowledge of the ILEC, tariffs, trouble isolation and escalation procedures.

General knowledge of switching and network as it relates to the telecommunications industry.

Two year technical degree or equivalent experience

Functioning knowledge of Microsoft XP and it’s applications

Experience with Remedy systems applications and engineering databases.

Understanding network diagrams, schematics, manuals, circuit design layouts.

Strong remote and cooperative testing understanding and capabilities.

General capabilities in Remedy, Xpercom, all Microsoft applications.

Network maintenance, configuration, and surveillance abilities required with the following technologies and/or pieces of equipment:

Nortel DMS 500 Switch

Nortel (DLC) Remote Dial tone Terminal

Nortel IMAS DSLAM’s

Tellab’s DACS (5500 / 532l)

Cisco ATM (MGX) switches

Lucent OC48 – OLS systems

Lucent Anymedia Remote Dial tone Terminal

Lucent 5ESS Class 500 Switch

Meta Switch – Call Agent/Media Gateway

General understanding of SIP, VOIP, and TDM services.

Experience with 56k, T1, DS3, STS1, OC-X, functionality and troubleshooting

Ethernet First Mile applications and technology.

Turin/White Rock/Force 10 SONET mulitplexors.

CAC Navigator and Widebank
