In both the hospital and clinic setting:|
Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to diagnose and implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures and treatments, as necessary for the care of the patient.
Aids with the organization and provision of care including visits and procedures
Collaborates with Cardiologistson various aspects of patient care
Provides independent and advanced professional nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Functions independently to perform physical assessments of cardiac patients discriminating between normal and abnormal findings using sound judgment and critical problem solving skills
Obtains pertinent medical history, performsappropriate physical examination, obtainsand reviewsrelevant laboratory or radiological studies, identifiesand assessessignificant co-morbidities, and developsappropriate treatment plans.
Communicates pertinent findings and information to procedural physician and team; also, provides relevant education and counseling to prepare patients for procedures and discharge
Completes procedures as trained and credentialed
Assists physicians with management of patients in the hospital and office setting consistent with established policies, regulations, expectations, and approved Scope of Practice.
Completes patient assessments to include, physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, educational and other risk assessments of the individual patient
Initiates appropriate actions to preserve patient life, foster recovery, and enhance wellness
Provides efficient and compassionate care for both the patient and their family utilizing the multi-disciplinary approach through communication, continuity, coordination, and evaluation
Collaborates with other healthcare team members, leadership, and medical staff to provide safe patient care
Is responsible for compliance of regulatory standards
Promotes mission, vision, and values of the healthcare system
Demonstrates organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills
Provides and coordinates safe patient care and promotes a safe environment of care
Delegates as appropriate
Provides staff, patient and family education
Documents in accordance with regulatory and hospital guidelines
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team intra- and interdepartmentally to facilitate theteam’sability to meet its goals and objectives
This position works weekdays and some weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
Completion of a postgraduate Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by the NLN or
Two years recent CV Nurse Practitioner experience includingcardiac stress testing
Current State of Colorado Registered Nurse License (required)
Certified in State of Colorado as Nurse Practitioner
Current State of Colorado prescriptive privileges and DEA licensure (required)
Appropriate Medical Staff credentials and privileges current
Basic Life Support certification (required)
Advanced Life Support certification (required)
