NURSING SHIFT SUPERVISOR - Nursing Administration DEFINITION
Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Practice Nurse Act, plans, organizes, and supervises nursing staff; manages, reports on, and provides resources for direct patient care in major inpatient units and outpatient units as directed; and to perform related work as required.
This class reports directly to a senior level hospital management staff member.
Possession of Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. Bachelor or Masters degree in Nursing preferred.
- 5 years as a Registered Nurse, preferably in critical care setting. One (1) year of supervisory experience or demonstrate leadership and critical thinking skills as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital.
*Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
