Medical Assistant for a busy center for general and weight loss surgery. Will be responsible for patient care: vital signs, escorting patient to rooms, assisting with exams. Phone triage. Some medical authorizations. Data entry in the electronic medical record.
Provides and/or coordinates the delivery of a variety of patient services under the direction of the registered nurse or physician. Patient services are both clinical and non-clinical in nature and include direct patient care activities such as taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy and business functions such as data entry , filing, assessing charges. Interacts with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Part time; 24 hours/week: Mondays,Wednesdays and Fridays with required flexibility that the person work 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. or 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a Medical Assistant training program, nursing student, or Paramedic. A minimum of one-year experience in a Medical Assistant position is preferred. Demonstrated ability to: Communicate efectively. Problem solve Get along with others, Confront issues appropriately. Must be able to speak and understand oral and written communication in English. CPR training required
