Collaborating with RHUSA Risk Management, Real Estate and Legal functional teams on the implementation, auditing and enforcement of environmental health and safety programs & guidelines.
Developing and facilitating communication with the field Operations organization regarding all safety topics.
Leading ongoing development of Safety Policies, Programs, Procedures, Training, etc., providing leadership and direction to employees of all levels to improve safety performance.
Developing and training of all employees to ensure implementation and adherence to Safety policies and procedures.
Managing and tracking Safety programs using various tools.
Completing periodic facility inspections in order to identify safety hazards and audit compliance with current safety policies and procedures - with corrective action plans to address discovered deficiencies.
Leading incident investigation process and coordinate corrective action measures and closure.
Analyzing, reporting, and owning business Safety metrics related to injury trends, insurance claims, tracking/closure, etc.
Managing all aspects of company environmental programs, including hazardous/universal waste.
Leading environmental and safety due diligence for property transactions and future acquisitions.
Developing strategies and policies designed to maintain compliance with federal and state laws and regulations throughout all business units.
Coordinating responses to inquiries from regulatory agencies such as OSHA
Providing interpretation and direction regarding various compliance laws, regulations, guidelines and standards that may impact the company.
Developing and improving RHUSA Safety policies and programs to ensure compliance, awareness, and continuous improvement.
Facilitating the RHUSA Sustainable Development Program and preparing periodic reports.
Other projects and tasks as needed by the business.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Be a Certified Safety Professional.

- More than 5 years of significant experience managing occupational safety and environmental compliance in a dispersed workforce setting.
- Experience managing a geographically dispersed work-force (distribution type business).
- Successful record of developing, implementing, and driving improvements in an organization.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer and branch needs.
Ability to verify and calculate figures such as cost, commissions, credit, rebate and profit, understand and interpret financial data and reports and balance sheets.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze customer, branch and employee problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
