Hire Details : Day to day Storage Administration for ~30 filers. Support the customer IT team. Work on Storage tickets, provision, mirror and manage storage. Perform OnTap and firmware upgrades, cordinate new installations with our install team. Manage snapshots and mirrors. Manage cases into NetApp support
Work Environment : 10-50 Netapp Controllers, 72+ Hosts, 500-1000 TBs Storage, MSFT, UNIX, NAS-CIFS, SAN-iSCSI, FAS 3000, FAS 6000, V-Series, 7-Mode, 150+ Users, Exchange, SQL, VMware, File Services, SnapRestore, SnapMirror, SnapVault
The primary responsibility will be to ensure that the storage infrastructure is running smoothly within the customers’ data center operations and will be responsible for the following:
- Support and daily administration of storage infrastructure
- Proactively reviewing/auditing and reporting on the customer’s storage environment for error conditions and efficiency status
- Becoming a trusted advisor to the customer and account team
- Staffing augmentation to customers storage team
- Being a key conduit working with NetApp Global Services for support calls
- Operational duties within a customer’s IT Service Management framework.
- Providing support for storage projects and solutions such as backup and restore, disaster recovery, storage consolidation, data protection, and storage performance.
Must be comfortable gathering information from multple sources (i.e. from a backup admin, a server admin) and be able to relate it to the NetApp infrastructure (for example, how many VMs would fit in a datastore, how many times per day a snapshot would be taken) as a recommendation. Must be comfortable leading an effort by example (i.e. if a meeting ends without a consensus opinion from the group, documenting the best information from the session and then taking action without multiple follow up meetings).

Role & Responsibilities
Storage Operation – Provide daily management of NetApp storage estate through the use of management tools ensuring operational response for execution, provision, access and performance.
Storage Efficiency and Optimization – Ensure NetApp products are suitably configured for maximum storage efficiency. This may include such tasks as product upgrades, performance monitoring, and system audit tasks.
Documentation – Create and maintain NetApp storage infrastructure best practice documentation for the customer.
Customer Support – Provide support for operational issues, incidents and defects,, responding in a timely manner to triage problems and implement fixes or escalate to NetApp Global Support.
Soft Skills – Successfully handle customer interactions and deal with a variety of issues which encompass both technical and business needs.
