The Network Administrator is familiar with a wide variety of the IT field's concepts, practices, and procedures; she/he relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, to perform a variety of tasks, and to lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity, latitude, and the ability to learn quickly is expected.

Specifically, this Network Administrator role is part of the IT Operations team of five staff, focusing on server, storage, backup, and network environments. The Haley & Aldrich environment consists of 23 remote locations and 1 primary datacenter. Due to the large number of office locations and the complexity of the network environment, the level of stress can be quite high at times. The Network Administrator is able to shift gears quickly to deal with various types of ad hoc technology issues that occur.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in area of specialty with 5-7 years of experience, or 7+ years of experience in the field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a multi-site environment with a WAN, either private (MPLS) or public (Internet VPN)
• Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining network devices such as switches (HP, Dell, Cisco), routers (Cisco), firewalls (Juniper), Load Balancers (A10’s) , and WAN optimization devices
• Strong technical knowledge of local & wide area network administration
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a day-to-day administrator of Active Directory 2003/2008 domain including configuration/support of DHCP, DNS, Sites & Services, and functional domain level upgrades
• Experience with SAN architecture, management, and associated network configuration
• Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 administration both Virtual/Physical in multiple locations and backup processes
• Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
• Experience assigning routing protocols and routing table configuration
• Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information
• Experience with overall responsibility for Backup/Recovery solutions, operations, and disaster recovery testing

• Preferred Qualifications or Expertise
• Experience with VOIP & Microsoft Lync network related implementations a plus
• Experience managing and maintaining Riverbeds a plus
• Experience as day-to-day administrator with VMware vSphere 5.0 and higher a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, which is utilized in our Remote Offices a plus
• Experience with data management a plus
• Basic SQL administration a plus

• Comfortable dealing with high level management and end users, especially difficult ones whose problems have been escalated from the Help Desk

• Work Conditions:
• Sitting for extended periods of time
• Available to participate in an On-Call support schedule
• Occasional travel to current datacenter and to our remote offices across the US
• Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as servers, computers, and peripherals

Responsibilities
• Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for the network and related systems in conjunction with end-users and department managers
• Develop and maintain all network, systems, and security configurations
• Identify and troubleshoot network performance issues
• Analyze system, server, application, and network device performance
• Design and implement network configuration changes
• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on the network, servers, and workstations, if applicable
• Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases
• Provides technical support and guidance to users
• Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts
• Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services
• Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network administration and appropriate use
• Provide guidance and mentoring to members of the team
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within many IT areas.
• Together with other IT Operations team members, gain familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures to troubleshoot the most difficult technical issues faced by the IT group
• Manage and maintain, server OS administration, hardware support, and vendor management
