Be part of a team that manages and maintains a nationwide WAN for
government customer. Must have a solid understanding and detailed
working knowledge of Cisco IOS and IP addressing schemes. Solid
knowledge of security principles, IP protocols, specifically Cisco
routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, IP, IPX, SNA, SNMP) and
LAN/ WAN technologies (frame relay, DSL, ISDN, MPLS, and analog).
Strong customer services skills are required, especially via phone.
Experience working in a government customer environment is helpful.
Experience with administration (4-6 years) of routed and switched
networks and associated protocols in a Cisco environment including:
troubleshooting and configuring VLANs, troubleshooting frame relay
and point to point circuits Perform systems engineering tasks such as
identifying/refining new requirements, design, and test. Requires
exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work independently
& the drive to shepherd a task through the full process. Web
Development/Design background is a BIG plus! Experience developing in
any combination of the following: ASP, .NET, HTML, IIS, JAVA,
should have experience using: -SQL, HP, Oracle and UNIX -Windows
2000/2003/XP/Win7 networking -Windows Server up through 2008
network planning, engineering, and design - CCNA or MCSE helpful
- Networking LAN and WAN technologies -Technical analysis and data
Education: BS in Networking related field is preferred
