ActioNet has an opening for a Network Administrator to support our Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona customer at the Norco, CA location. The Network Administrator will support the day-to-day collection, processing, and distribution of data from naval test and evaluation exercises. They will operate and administer the computer networks including hardware and software support associated with the data collection efforts. Configures, installs, monitors, maintains, and upgrades systems and networks. The systems and networks include servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, storage, and network management systems. Researches, analyzes, monitors, troubleshoots and resolves server or data network problems. Performs scheduled network tasks including updating anti-virus definition/patches and network server maintenance. Record and update network documentation. Will work with hand tools in the machining and assembly of components. Will also support various special projects within the department. Periodic travel up to 25% is required.

Skills Required

Minimum of 3 years installation and maintenance support of Information Technology systems and software.
Minimum of 2 years network or system administration experience in a multi-user environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows servers, systems, and applications environment.
Working knowledge of routers, firewalls, FTP, and HPSS.
Familiar with specialized diagnostic tools (software & hardware based).
Familiar with hand tools and basic knowledge of machining and assembly.
Ability to work under pressure and in a multi-tasking environment.
Good customer service skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, sit, and lift up to 80 lbs.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must possess or be able to quickly obtain MCSA (Windows 7) and Security+ (or equivalent) certifications.
Must possess a DoD Secret security clearance.

Skills Preferred

Experience working in military organizations and understanding of U.S. Navy protocol, administration, and related policies, regulations, and procedures.
Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship protocol.
Working knowledge of voice and VOIP technologies a plus.
Linux experience a plus.
