Job Summary:
The Network Administrator is responsible for the administration and support of the company network infrastructure and related services. This position conducts the day to day support of the network to include networking equipment such as routers, switches, wireless access points, wiring and firewalls. Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the above mention is also a requirement along with monitoring of all said devices and services. Must be able to evaluate complex problems, isolate key issues, research and develop alternative solutions and to present management with recommendations that include, at a minimum, the advantages, the disadvantages, and the cost and staff impact of recommendations. Must be able to work with all levels of staff, in both a team oriented environment as well as individually.

Job Duties:
· Implementation and maintenance of network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, etc; provide documentation and conduct testing as necessary
· Maintain and enforce documented network standards and procedures
· Monitor network and utilization metrics for maximum performance; proactive troubleshooting as necessary
· Troubleshooting network reported issues and outages
· Ensure that security monitoring is completed at appropriate intervals; take effective action as needed
· Maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, security appliances, enforcing security policies and monitoring defined access
· Remain current on emerging tools, techniques, methodologies and technologies
· Produce high-quality written products documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
· Intermittent travel to remote offices and data centers

· Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Wireless Access Points
· Best practices in networking and security
· Familiarity of other manufacturers (HP, Force10) a plus
· Effectively troubleshoot complex networking issues
· Manage short-term and long-term projects
· Establish and maintain working relationships with other departments and outside vendors
· Provide senior level support as needed to help diagnose desktop network issues

Bachelor’s degree from a college or university or 4 years of related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Firewall experience a plus.

CCNA Certification preferred
Security+, Network+, Linux+, RHCT, RHCE, or LPIC are a plus
