Women for Women International’s IT organization is responsible for providing and maintaining our infrastructure and applications globally to support sponsorship operations, program delivery, monitoring and evaluation and fundraising. The systems provided are used by our global staff in 10 different countries with varying infrastructure capability.

The Network administrator will play a key role in maintaining our global infrastructure, as well improving it to better serve our global team and our beneficiaries. The role will require the individual to wear many hats, while working on multiple challenging projects at the same time. It is an opportunity to apply your skills and expand your knowledge at the same time.


Network and System Administration
  • Hands-on VMware or Hyper-V installation & support
  • Hands-on Cisco switches, routers, and firewall installation & support
  • Hands-on global networking experience in Africa
  • Hands-on network and system administration experience with Africa-based offices
  • System and Network Security
  • Global network architecture experience
  • Design and implement network & network security best practices
  • Tier-2 support for global offices (Active directory, Windows, global networking)

Project Management
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders/end users to collect and document requirements
  • Develop and review RFP materials
  • Research possible vendors and invite bids
  • Assist with contract negotiations
  • Prepare and manage comprehensive project schedules, including vendor and internal stakeholders
  • Control scope and ensure on time delivery with quality
  • Coordinate with additional vendors and internal staff as necessary to ensure successful system, data and process integration
  • Perform UAT and integration testing where necessary
  • Prepare user documentation and training materials where necessary
  • Define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment
  • Create & maintain an information technology project plan that effectively communicates project deliverables, milestones and goals
  • Efficiently identify & solve project issues

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 5-8 years experience in and IT environment where new systems are being developed/implemented regularly
  • Strong organizational, presentation and customer service skills required
  • Demonstrated success as lead technical leader coordinating multiple stakeholders and vendors or developers
  • Experience implementing cloud based solutions globally
  • Experience working with remote technical staff
  • Proven track record executing IT upgrade projects on schedule and in budget
  • Previous work for International NGOs or commercial organizations in developing countries is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain technical matters to non technical audiences, and understand business implications of technical conversations.

  • Good spoken and written English language skills, French a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel to difficult regions including: Afghanistan, Bosnia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kosovo, Iraq, Nigeria, Rwanda and South Sudan or our fundraising office in the United Kingdom.
