Time Warner Cable currently seeks a Network Engineer II for our Commercial Engineering Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary:
The Network Engineer II position will be responsible for all Regional Carrier and Commercial Design and Documentation in the West Region.

Essential Job Functions:
1.Document the architecture and design the Regional Cell Tower Back Haul and Commercial Edge Network to support all services which include but are not limited to Ethernet, DWDM, OCx, STSx and VT1.5/DS1.
2.Creation of Bill of Materials for network implementation and expansion for hardware procurement. Design equipment into Granite Xng. Providing Engineering and Installation design packages to Operations and Carrier Transport Engineers for installation and activation in the network.
3.Maintain network, facility, and other pertinent diagrams as necessary for supporting and maintaining the commercial network and infrastructure.
4.Maintain the sites objects, network equipment, network and service path designs in Telcordia Granite Xng to a 90 - 95% accuracy rating. Ensures the Granite Xng data conforms to the corporate standards.
5.Responsible for designing and implementing network migrations and rolls.
6,Manages small and large scale projects to ensure deliverables are met on-time.
7.Interfaces with other organizations and personnel within Time Warner Cable including: equipment architecture, equipment installation, fiber design and construction, operational support, planning and corporate compliance.
8.Maintains TID management, IP addressing and IP allocation for equipment and network interfaces. .
12.Manage creation of reports as needed.

Job Requirements:
Experienced in documenting and designing circuits end to end in OSS tools such as Granite Xng.
Experienced in Telcordia naming definitions for sites, equipment and circuits
Fully understands SONET and Standard telephony hierarchy DS0 - OC768
Demonstrates knowledge of UPSR and BLSR SONET protection mechanism
Layer2 experience and knowledge in VLANs and circuit emulation
Understanding of optical transmission technologies including SONET, DWDM, CWDM, and xPON services
Understanding physical and logical cross-connects as it relates to network design and traffic management
Has the ability to perform data analysis and reconciliation with OSS reports and other data sources in order to support the network using Excel
Thorough understanding of metro Ethernet transport protocols such as MPLS, VPLS, RPR, and related network protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working experience with Telcordia Granite inventory and circuit database is preferred but not required.
Working experience with Remedy ticketing system is preferred but not required.
Industry recognized network certification is preferred by not required.

Education and Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years' experience a related field or as an Associate Network Design Engineer
