As an IT professional you have expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Because of your excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle, you have the ability to direct project teams in the gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. You get to work closely with and learn from the brightest minds to ensure proper system design. Your role ensures highest quality implementations from design through quality insurance to production. You anticipate hardware and software design needs to take pre-emptive action. Our IT professionals support multiple team members and other project leads in day-to-day activities related to project work.
The successful candidate will have a solid foundation in end-to-end network configuration and administration in a large data center environment. The core responsibilities of this position are firewall administration, switch configuration and deployment, network troubleshooting, creation of network documentation, support for system and application integration (load balancing, port configuration, firewall policy and network security).
The Network Engineer has a good working knowledge of technology architecture, design engineering, development, standards, maintenance, and support of Home Depot' s hardware and software business applications in the area of data and voice networks.
This will also include network designing, testing, technical writing and other duties required to architect, standardize and implement enhanced functionality.
Evaluate and recommend specific products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet architectural requirements.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintain and support networking hardware and software mainframe network, including evaluate, develop, and recommend specific network technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirements.
Monitor, manage and tune networks to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
Assess business and technology initiatives, providing consultation, technical support, and recommendations to optimally utilize the enterprise network infrastructure.
Research and design reference models to standardize network architecture and manage network life-cycle planning.
Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery, creating preventative measures to deploy in the enterprise
Create and maintain support documentation and technical drawings of the enterprise network infrastructure.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
