Reporting to the IS Manager for ATI, the Network Engineer will be responsible for the administration, management and maintenance of computer network systems, core applications, servers and MPLS circuits. This person will provide input to the IS Manager and will be expected to actively participate and contribute as an integral member of the technology department.
Primary responsibilities for the Network Engineer include but are not limited to Upgrades and installations; troubleshooting network hardware devices and software; maintaining inventory; documentation; recommended and scheduled repairs to the LAN; proactive LAN maintenance and routine server maintenance; and all other IT administrative functions that are recognized as critical to the organization's success.
The Network Engineer will be considered successful by achieving the following:
• Successfully minimize downtime or LAN outages.
• Install/Maintain/Update all computer network devices
• Assist in all helpdesk activities
• Proactively identify problem areas and present practical solutions
• Create an environment where integrity is preserved and information technology is seen as a proactive partner with business.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a systems administration role, or related information technology field. This individual will be communicating effectively across multiple constituencies (home office, school and technical staff), and be part of a team that is building an accountable, customer focused organization. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and have reliable transportation.
Personally, the successful candidate will be highly collaborative, communicative, customer service focused, excellent listener, motivated, maintain a positive attitude and be a team player. She/he will be comfortable enhancing a talented staff with a spirit of collaboration, openness and communication.
The ideal candidate would possess 5-10 years experience combining Helpdesk support, systems administration, network administration and server administration. Critical skills are Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 & 2013, Microsoft SQL Server 2005+, Active Directory, Cisco LAN/WAN, Xirrus Wireless, Cisco Unified Call Manager, ASA 5500 Series Appliances, VPN, Cisco ACE or Citrix NetScaler, and basic desktop applications.
