Butler Snow, a multi-office, regional law firm, is seeking to fill a Cisco Network Engineer position in a team environment supporting attorneys in all offices. This is a full time position with a competitive salary, benefits and great in-house training opportunities. A successful network engineer at Butler Snow will be able to truly understand the networking environment, assess, design, and implement network solutions, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Network performance and availability are critical to the operation of the organization, as voice and real time data applications depend on 100% network availability for service delivery.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of the LAN systems which are comprised of 10G local networks (fiber and copper), as well as the WAN systems which are comprised of multiple MPLS and VPN networks managed by dynamic routing protocols
Provide break-fix support to clients when experience issues
Utilize troubleshooting skills to determine root cause and to implement appropriate solution to resolve network/server issues
Assist other team members as needed
Provide documentation of work performed as well as providing customer network documentation
Ensure excellent customer service
Maintain and achieve certifications as requested
Meet deadlines and customer expectations
On Call responsibilities on a rotating basis
Evening and weekend work on occasion
Minimum 5 years IT networking and systems experience with responsibility for installing network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, and switches and network management software
Experience with complex LAN/WAN configuration including VLANs, STP, BGP, and EIGRP.
Experience with voice and data networks, specifically Cisco hardware and software.
Proven success installing and maintaining IT network solutions
Ability to evaluate network performance to identify operational problems and suggest improvements to optimize a network
Experience with products including Cisco CallManager, Unity, and IOS.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Cisco Certifications * CCNA required, (CCNP highly preferred)
