Title: Network Engineer (Engineer II Communications)

Position Description:

We are seeking candidates to join team DRS in support of the Systems Engineering, Integration, Operations & Readiness Support for PEO C3T for the Army, located primary in Aberdeen, Proving Ground, MD, and OCONUS sites. The focus of these positions is to provide system engineering, project management, and content management, administrative and technical support for the development, operation, maintenance, upgrade, integration, material procurement, technology insertion and support services related to the existing Team C4ISR Knowledge Management Framework. This position is contingent upon contract award. Anticipated award date is January 2013.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Network Engineer provides communications engineering expertise to PEO C3T in pursuit of technical and policy solutions to tactical enterprise and local area C4ISR challenges facing the Army’s current and future forces. This support includes providing technical expertise in the areas of communications network engineering, satellite communications, architecture, analysis, development, and network operations support. The Network Engineer provides expertise in the strategic areas of SoS architecture development including next generation technology insertion strategies, and integration planning of future C4ISR capabilities. The Network Engineer provides analysis and assessments and test evaluation of potential high payoff communications capabilities in support of the PEO C3T global War-fighter C4ISR support plan. The Network Engineer performs tradeoff studies for system level design and material acquisition of tactical communication systems implement and test such methodologies and devices.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field), and three years of related experience, or an Associate Degree with seven years of related experience and/or training; or 11 years of related experience and/or training.

Must be capable of performing network engineering functions including: conceptualization, design, implementation, and optimization.

Must be experienced in assessing evolving user needs, translating those needs into network changes through network reconfiguration, hardware and software acquisitions, installation and test.

Must be knowledgeable in the application of current and emerging network software and hardware technlology and protocols.

This positions requires at least a SECRET clearance
