The ideal Enterprise Network Engineer candidate will have an industry recognized advanced certification, five+ years enterprise experience, and specialization in at least three of the areas noted below:
This full time specific position will service a large customer in the Milwaukee, Wauwatosa area; providing enterprise support. The engineer may also be called on to support all WI territories and may design, implement and support mission critical systems. The Network Engineer may provide expert pre-sales support, consulting services for different aspects of the Network Systems Design process, Project Management, deployment of the solution and ongoing support.
Support and improve the existing customer infrastructure
Design and deploy solutions to meet current and future Networking / Infrastructure needs of the customer using Cisco solutions.
Design and deploy solutions to meet current and future Security needs of the customer.
Maximize infrastructure resources that are under-utilized to increase reliability and centralize administration and support.
Evaluate processes and infrastructure design to more efficiently manage operations and reduce costs while increasing predictability.
Support enterprise-wide directories where necessary to lower administrative costs, coordinate end-user accounts, and reduce development costs.
Design and implement collaborative solutions with Cisco technologies and other third party solutions where necessary.
Designs, plans, installs, configures and implements technology solutions per company, client and/or manufacturers specified best practices.
Effectively interface with clients, technical services staff, sales staff, etc.
Completes and/or oversees moderate to complex system analysis and design specifications.
Provides technical support for new and existing clients.
Assists with the development, implementation and/or refinement of processes, procedures and standards with services provided and technologies implemented. Work with the customer to understand change requirements and make the appropriate recommendations.
Manages project plans to ensure client requirements are accurately met on a timely basis with maximum client satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned
Work as part of multiple teams representing both the customer and company.
Scheduled and unscheduled weekend and evening work
Participation in on-call rotation
Stays abreast of emerging technologies in the various technologies supported.
Travel and occasional over-night stays may be required for this position.
Good verbal and written communications
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required
BS, BA in Information Science and Technologies preferred
Experience in helping to support and foster streamlined central support within a complex IT organization preferred
Experience in change management and leading large large-scale infrastructure projects preferred
A background in healthcare and/or education environments is a plus.
Current certification on supported platforms including but not limited to: Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE); Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP); Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP); and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Tracking.
