NETWORKENGINEER

SUMMARY:
Performs network engineering, administrator and support functions. The position is accountable for performing the analysis, design, development and evaluation of computer software/hardware as assigned.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for engineering, deploying, and administrating infrastructure solutions (hardware and software) for servers and voice and data networks, including the following tasks:

Assist and or leads in the installation of server and network hardware and software that is critical in nature; or, if required, lead in identifying and communicating needs and install new server/network hardware/software.
Perform performance monitoring, system tuning, and capacity planning to maintain optimal performance.
Support operations with system administration and maintenance, security administration, systems repairs, and configuration changes.
Perform testing and integration to ensure that all software and hardware operate properly together.
Provide complex technical support to system infrastructure. Resolve problems and manage incidents at a server/network level.
Provide complex technical support to end-users.
Monitor access to the network by addressing issues of data security and file access at the service level.
Identify and resolve security issues.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of all infrastructure configurations and their functions
Coordinate complex projects.
Write purchase justifications, make effective presentations to professional peers, and work positively with upper management.
Act as a vendor liaison while maintaining relationships with external suppliers and vendors.
Mentor/train other team members.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience - Candidates must have 4+ years experience in a network administration or network engineering role in a Cisco/Microsoft environment.

Candidate must have advanced knowledge and hands-on administration experience with the following technologies:

Cisco Networking (switches, routers, wireless)
Cisco Call Manager and Unity voice mail
Firewalls (Checkpoint preferred)
Microsoft Active Directory, including DNS and DHCP functions
VPN

Additionally, experience with several of the following technologies is highly desirable:

Microsoft Windows Server 2008
Microsoft Windows 7
Microsoft Direct Access
Microsoft IIS 6.0
Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and 2010
Microsoft Lync
HP System Insight Manager
Blade Technologies (HP preferred)
Server virtualization (Microsoft Hyper-V and SCVMM preferred)
Microsoft Exchange 2010
SAN (NetApp preferred)
