The Network Engineer will support network operations and related infrastructure services on a regional and global perspective. Responsibilities include defining best practices, leading design and architecture, engineering, implementation and support activities.

Major Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Strategic & Tactical Planning.

Network Infrastructure Engineering (Architecture and Design).

Performance & Capacity Management.

Hands on Implementation and Support.

Maintain network documentation & adhere strictly to automated change controls.

Direct reports might include contractors and service desk staff as deemed necessary .

Interfaces with all departments at all geographic locations .

Bachelor's Degree.

CCNP, CISSP or equivalent Cisco proven hands on experience .

6+ years of general network engineering experience.

4+ years of experience with servers in the Windows Server, desktop, and related hardware experience. VMware experience is a plus.

Expert knowledge min 6 years experience in enterprise-level networking with knowledge in TCP/IP, Routing & Switching Protocols, and SNMP on Cisco IOS.

Detailed knowledge min 4 years experience with firewall, VPN, NACS, design, deployment, and support.

Detailed knowledge min 3 years experience with enterprise-level VoIP systems and migrations.

4+ years of experience in network security.

2+ years of experience with the Cisco Nexus devices.

Experience with Cisco LAN Wireless Controllers and APs.

Working in a geographically distributed multi-office environment.

Experience with WAN accelerator devices (Riverbed preferred).

Expert knowledge of OSI layers 1-4 and associated equipment.

Expert knowledge of Internet protocols and operation.

Detailed knowledge of Private and Telco circuit management (pots, PRI, DSL, ISDN, T1, T3, Metro Ethernet, Dark Fiber, etc.).

Detailed knowledge of Network management tools and software, VISIO and other network-diagramming tools.

Expert knowledge min 6 years providing all tiers off support for networking and security infrastructure and interfacing with vendor support organizations.

40% travel required usually at a moment’s notice .

Excellent verbal & written communications - technical and business concepts.

Staying ahead of security, networking and associated technologies while developing plans for leveraging them.

Participating in business development, platform architecture and cost estimation planning.

Project Management experience.

Develop early warning systems for proactive maintenance.

Performance metrics using network tools and dashboards.

Compliance with security & regulatory standards.

Resourceful in implementation and deployment strategies of best practices.

Liaise with telecommunications & other types of vendors.

Requires after hours and weekend support.
