Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Network Design Engineer located in San Ramon, CA through October 14, 2013 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
This position is for a high caliber network engineer to deploy, implement and support enterprise data center environments and will be responsible for the reliable operation of the network in Infrastructure Asset supported data centers worldwide but with the initial focus on the U.S. data centers in San Ramon, Houston and San Antonio.

The position is responsible for the reliable operation of the network in Infrastructure Asset supported data centers worldwide but with the initial focus on the U.S. data centers in San Ramon, Houston and San Antonio:
Design, planning, scheduling and installation of LAN (DC switching / "end of rack" / "top of rack") network systems and infrastructure. Mostly around the NEXUS platform.
Break/fix service resolution/coordination, working incident requests, change management, and performance management.
Supporting FEX, Virtual Connect, NAS storage & VMware network,
Manages network aspects of change management for data Centers and insures alignment with Network Assets architecture, direction and standard operating procedures.
Works closely with other Data Center work streams (Facilities, Windows/Unix and Data Hosting) and key stakeholders/OPCO business units in areas pertaining to network operations support for data centers.
IOS patching/upgrades and compliance management
2nd and 3rd level support and problem resolution
Support of existing DCA run and change project's.
Network Capacity Planning
CAPEX planning and estimates
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, EE or related experience.
10+ years of relevant experience in network design, implementation and support
Large Datacenter Experience
NEXUS 7000/5000/2000 experience
Cisco certifications (CCIE)- passed lab.
Requires performing multiple tasks and communicating with many internal customers simultaneously
Some travel required
The individual must have strong customer relationship skills.
Ability to think in a logical and systematic way to solve problems, incorporate suggestions and create solutions.
Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters. *LI-LC1
