The Network Operations Center (NOC) engineer will be responsible for all System/Technology monitoring, alerting, suppressing, and evaluating system parameters while providing alerting recommendations. The engineer will be in direct support of network engineering staff, network maintenance, maintenance of network servers and routers, and will assist with network trouble isolation and resolution.

The engineer is responsible for the overall operations of the change incident management system and work flow helpdesk operations. The engineer will also perform triage and escalation to support individuals for any IT issues that require attention and be required to support a 7x24 IT Operations Center


Routine Operational Duties:
  • Maintaining and supporting the HP Open View/OVO Windows
  • Responsible for administering, monitoring and suppressing the event management systems.
  • Event notification and escalations to the FTS IT support team
  • Responsible for the overall operations of the change request ticketing and work flow helpdesk system.
  • Administer and patch all NOC event management and notification applications
  • Author and maintain technical design documentation and operational procedures.
  • Introduce and maintain automation techniques where practical and beneficial
  • Ensuring system configurations and operations are in compliance with departmental policy and procedures.
  • Assist in information gathering to support the creation of the budget, maintenance agreements and audit procedures.
  • Monitoring and overall support of multi-location networks.
  • Perform network trouble isolation and resolution as needed.
Monitor network capacity utilization
  • Perform network maintenance as needed
  • Performs day-to-day application administration and maintenance of HP open View/OVO.
