The Network Security Analyst, Senior works under limited supervision and ensures adequate security controls are in place on Bank systems to protect the integrity, availability and confidentiality of information and promotes and supports information security as an essential part of the corporate culture and daily business operations. Develops, evaluates and manages systems security across the enterprise. Areas of concentration include management controls, operational controls, and technical controls. Enforces security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security profiles, reviews security violation reports and investigates possible security exceptions, updates, and maintains and documents security controls.
Education and experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field required.
Professional certification (e.g., CISA, CISSP or equivalent) required.
Other technical certifications preferred. Or equivalent work experience.
Typically has seven to ten years of combined IT and security work experience with a broad exposure to infrastructure/network and multi-platform environments.
Requires knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications across all existing computer platforms.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Strong knowledge of information systems concepts, technologies and controls, including a working familiarity with both mainframe and distributed system environments; information system security concepts, tools and techniques; and project planning methodologies; and a working knowledge of basic programming.
Assist in developing security solutions for medium to high complex assignments. Works on multiple projects as a team member and leads systems-related security components. May coach more junior technical staff.
Hands-on experience with network and IS security components, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
Experience in account management, profile management, configuration management, logging and monitoring, and risk management.
Technical expertise in systems administration and security tools, combined with the knowledge of security practices and procedures.
Broad technical knowledge of network operating systems (e.g., Unix, Linux, Active Directory, etc).
Knowledge of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocols, including their vulnerabilities and solutions.
Knowledge of bank accounting, regulatory compliance issues, and analytical review procedures.
Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection.
Ability to conduct research into security issues and products as required.
High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Highly self motivated and directed.
Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
