Under minimal supervision, assists with the development of information security policies; ensures that policies are applied and maintained for all computer network components including: routers, modem banks, remote access, firewalls, content filtering, web servers, telephone switches, and servers running operating systems; provides reports for the information security program. Serves as the network security specialist for the company.
-Maintains integrated security solutions, IDS/IPS/DLP and develops security plans for system.
-Evaluates security products and tests security systems performance.
-Installs and maintains SPLUNK and Websense products for logging and data leakage prevention.
-Participates in production roll outs, ensure systems are promoted securely.
-Coordinates with and provides guidance to the firewall team during firewall meetings.
-Develops and performs ¿penetration¿ efforts to test network vulnerability to intrusion by hostile individuals or groups.
-Assists with investigating, documenting and reporting any actual or potential information security violations, breeches or inappropriate computer use; works with Network and Desktop Support to resolve incidents.
-Supports the development and implementation of a BCBSAZ security awareness and virus management program.
-Assists management with establishing, reviewing and maintaining BCBSAZ information security policies and procedures; participates in ensuring security compliance with agency regulatory requirements.
-Provides status reports on the implementation of computer security.
-Assists in keeping the Information Security Services web site updated.
-Assist workforce members with security related questions or problems.
-Participates in Quality and corporate task teams as deemed appropriate.
-Participates in on-site business associate security assessments that may require travel.
-Monitors anti-virus and anti-malware systems.
-Monitors and releases secure email by pass notifications.
-Runs Internet activity reports.
-Makes approved white list changes to network firewalls and DLP appliances.
-Weigh business needs against security concerns and articulate issues to management.
-Author security-related articles.
-Educate workforce members on security practices through individual training, Intranet articles, etc.
-Participate in department on-call rotation.
-Assists in user access control and administration.
-Performs special projects as assigned.
-Cross train in other information security duties to support the business as needed.
-Create weekly status reports of progress and productivity.
-Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
Education and Experience:
Prerequisite: Qualifications as Information Security Specialist 1
-Associates degree in a business discipline, Information Systems, or related computer science and/or an equivalent experience.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Applications and Suites, Windows Server, and Microsoft SQL databases.
-Knowledge of the use of SharePoint
-4-10 years experience in the Information Security or Information Systems Audit fields.
-Experience with ISO 27002/BS7799
-Possess a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP), or equivalent network security certification and agree to maintain the credential(s) as a condition of employment.
-Must have excellent technical affinity, problem solving abilities, written and verbal communication skills, and exhibit a great deal of attention to detail.
-Must possess excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and work independently while under several competing deadlines and with constant interruption.
-Solid understanding of separation of duties with respect to security roles and permissions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Advanced Knowledge of project management concepts
-Demonstrate technical ability and problem solving skills to include metric development and deliverance to senior management.
-Proven ability to write and present information security training documentation
-Solid technical ability and problem solving skills
-Demonstrate the ability to stay current on global threats and vulnerabilities.
-Experience working with third parties
-Must demonstrate time management skills and the ability to multi-task and work independently while under several competing deadlines and with constant interruption.
-Knowledge of personal computers, network hardware, network topology, and desktop applications.
-The willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays when called upon.
-Be willing to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
-Successfully pass drug screening and a complex back ground check
