Provides support and maintenance of both the data and voice network infrastructure and securing all points of ingress. Manages the Firewall and VPN appliances including configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades. Enforces network security practices. Troubleshoot and analyze problems, perform daily monitoring and maintenance procedures, and off hour support. Involved in the evaluation of products and/or procedures to sustain and enhance network performance including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi technologies. Provides direct support to the business and IT staff. Individual must adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides 24x7 support and management of Cisco firewall, VPN, and network infrastructure
Enforce network security policies and procedures and conduct routine audits
Perform firmware upgrades for network switches, routers, and network appliances
Conduct routine performance monitoring, incident reporting and troubleshooting.
Execute PBX adds, moves and changes and general PBX administration and telephone support.
Maintain operating procedures and associated documentation for telecommunications and network
Decision-Making Authority/Accountability Level:
This role requires the ability to work independently under little direction or supervision to provide 24 x 7
independent support, advanced troubleshooting, and problem resolution in most phases of the Network. This role makes discretionary recommendations towards maintaining network security. Requires quick judgment calls guarding against potential security threats based on facts and analysis of situation. Interacts with other peers and other professionals within IT.
Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of network security concepts, protocols, and network management
Advanced knowledge and experience in Cisco Firewall and VPN technology
Ability to work independently or collectively in a team environment, follow directions, and document problems and resolutions.
Ability to work and effectively contribute in a team environment across multiple technical areas.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter with a positive attitude and a desire to learn all aspects of Network Security.
