Performs functions related to the allocation of communications resources associated with DISN. Prepares Telecommunications Service Requests (TSRs) and Telecommunications Service Orders (TSOs) for communications service supporting authorized users (customers). Determines circuit routing, parameters and equipment required to support specified end-to-end user requirements.

As required, analyzes the capabilities and limitations of commercial carriers and recommends measures to assure that proper diversifications are exercised and that the A&E process is effective. Researches and provides data regarding actions or processes related to circuit orders. Both inputs and extracts data related to circuit establishment/termination actions in a host of automated systems. As directed, performs daily updates of automated TSR/TSO status files; ensures that statistical summaries may be extracted to support recurring and nonrecurring reports.

Analyze customer service requests and provide technical solutions/recommendations for voice, data, video, and wireless circuits. Analysis will include identifying and verifying the appropriate DISA Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) solution that may use any combination of telecommunications transmission medium such as, but not limited to, Microwave, Satellite, Ultra High Frequency, Fiber Optics, TCP/IP, Local, Metropolitan, and/or Wide Area Networks (LAN/MAN/WAN), Cable, Frequency (FDM), Time (TDM), Asynchronous (ATM) or SONET Dense Wave Division Multiplexed (DWDM) systems. - Track all provisioning actions through to completion/operation using on-line tools. These tools will be used to research DISN capabilities to ensure properly utilized of resources to satisfy customer requirements and performed cost analysis to ensuring cost effective resource utilization prior to provisioning.

Required Skills

DoD 8570 requirements - Network + or Security +. In-depth knowledge of electronics theory/circuitry and data communications network operations. Understanding of specified data communications protocols and standards such as, but not limited to, TCP/IP, ATM, SONET, and Frame Relay. Experience in Circuit Actions, background as a Technical or Systems Controller, Wideband Maintenance or similar career fields.

Required Experience

2 years of professional experience

ITIL V3 Foundation certified a plus.
