Performs a variety of activities related to computer hardware and the peripherals associated with them such as disk drives, monitors, printers, and CD ROMS. Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN). Perform network monitoring to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Installs and configures internal hardware components such as memory, disk, and drives in multi-user, PCs in order to maintain or enhance system operation and capabilities.
Performs diagnostic tests, modifies or repairs hardware to the board or component level
Provide support for authorized desktop software and troubleshoot network connectivity problems for users or user groups.
Conducts training in order to develop personnel skills in the operations and capabilities of applications and systems.
Researches, recommends, installs, repairs, and tests hardware, software, and network configurations for PC’s and/or servers ensuring integration with existing network systems.
Logs calls and takes appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory response within specified time frames for the user community
Establishes and maintains a parts inventory for personal computers, as well as other supplies and computer center-related materials
Keeps up to date with current trends and is prepared to make recommendations
Insure legal compliance and current revision levels for licensed applications and HIPAA requirements.
Secure and protect data according to established Information Security Policy and Disaster Planning procedures.
Basic telephone system maintenance and troubleshooting.
Schedule, coordinate, and setup AV equipment for presentations.
Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
Monitor industry websites or publications for information about patches, releases, viruses, or potential problem identification.
Provide on-call evening and weekend coverage as scheduled by supervisor
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum 2 years experience, which demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot computer problems (hardware or software) and degree in technology, networking.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot computer system problems.
Familiarity with common network technologies (switches, routers, Server 2003, Microsoft Server Technologies)
Working knowledge of wireless technologies
Administration experience with phone switches, voicemail and unified messaging.
Strong communication, organization, and listening skills required.
Must be able to perform work requiring lifting up to 25lbs.
