THE POSITION

Reporting to the Indio Water Authority General Manager, the IWA Network Systems Engineer performs a variety of tasks in the design, development, analysis, implementation and maintenance of new and existing technology and information systems. This is a management level position with direct and indirect supervision over professional, technical, office support personnel and third-party vendor individuals. The incumbent is expected to independently perform the full scope of assigned duties. Ideal candidate will possess substantial knowledge in project management, SCADA systems, network virtualization and port security in a water management or other utility management environment.

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum qualifications necessary for entry into the classification.)

Education:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with coursework in data processing, computer science, information systems management, or a related field

And

Experience:

Three years of professional experience in information technology with one year of that experience in a municipal government setting.

License/Certificate: Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license.

Additional Desired Qualification:

Possession of a current certificate from an accredited training agency such as Microsoft, Comptia, vMware, Cisco is preferred.
