As a Senior Network and Application Performance Engineer “Network Engineer”, you will solve government and enterprise customers’ network, application, and server capacity/performance issues. You will utilize OPNET’s software to plan, design, deploy, operate, and optimize IT infrastructures. Additional tasks include but are not limited to:
Perform network capacity planning and performance analyses
Act as an expert for application performance – utilize OPNET products such as ACE and other tools to identify key components of transaction performance including transport, Web, databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2), and middleware (MQ Series, MSMQ , Transaction Monitors, EJB , WebLogic, etc.).
Perform network design analysis and configuration validation
Analyze and understand client’s IT requirements, organization functions, and decision making processes
Produce a solution that fulfills client’s needs within budget and schedule constraints
Full lifecycle project management including service delivery, business development, and customer presentations
Collect network performance information required for simulation modeling studies
Perform server capacity planning and performance analyses for UNIX and Windows based platforms
Present and articulate advanced product features, benefits, and overall product solutions.
Here’s what you should bring to the table:
Active Secret clearance required
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related area with 3+ years of communication network design and/or analysis experience
A thorough technical understanding of communication networks (designs, protocols, components, and operations)
A fundamental technical understanding of multi-tier application architectures and performance issues
An ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people
Must be motivated to have an impact on our products, our company, and the state of the art.
