The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, MidSOUTH seeks a qualified applicant to fill the Network and System Administrator (P98334) located in Little Rock. All MidSOUTH positions are funded through grants or contracts and are renewed on an annual basis, contingent on funding.

The MidSOUTH Network and Systems Administrator will have overall responsibility for maintaining MidSOUTHs LAN, WAN, wireless and telecommunications systems. The successful applicant will possess excellent writing and verbal skills, organizational skills and interpersonal skills. Applicants also must work well both independently and as part of a team. Duties will also include administration /maintenance of Windows and Linux servers; evaluating current and future network needs and recommending solutions. Applicants must have a working knowledge of Windows OS, Cisco Networking Devices, Database Applications, Active Directory, Backup Solutions, GPO and DFS solutions.

Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or related field; plus five years of experience in each of the following areas: evaluating, planning, and coordinating a network system; acquisitions, installations, and maintenance of networking equipment; Microsoft Windows networking/servers and Linux; Cisco networking equipment; active directory, Google email, and Linux administration.
