Our Higher Education Client located in Denver, CO, is seeking a Network and Systems Manager for a 3 month contract to hire position. Great Benefits Package: PERA pension/employer contribution to pension, 5 week's vacation, medical and dental insurance.
I. PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB :
To setup, configure, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software utilized.
Provide project management, leadership, and expertise in all systems and network projects.
Work with other IT staff to develop proper procedures for network management, monitoring, and support.
Produce and review documentation including disaster recovery planning, network diagramming, project details, etc.
Provide support for Client's virtual desktop and server infrastructure.
Serve as resource to other IT staff for general consultation and assistance.
Assist in long term planning and bring recommendations for network and system upgrades to senior staff.
Work with senior IT staff to define goals and priorities for the network and systems function of IT.
Utilize network and systems metrics to report network status.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
20% - Setup, configure, manage, and monitor, Client's network devices including switches, routers, and numerous other appliances. Troubleshoot LAN/WAN routing and switching functionality as needed. Utilize Cisco IOS on a daily basis for configuration changes. Configure WAPs and controllers for Cisco and Aruba WAPs.
15% - Configure and troubleshoot Windows Domains, DFS file access, SAN file storage, blade server, and other hardware and software related to CCD's domain setup.
25% - Configure, monitor and maintain SAN file storage and virtualized VMWare environments.
10% - Configure, monitor, and develop best practice backup systems and procedures.
15% - Provide project management, long term planning, and recommendations for network and system upgrades and improvements. Track progress of network team projects. Create and track network and systems related metrics.
10% - Supervise addition network staff, including setting goals, measuring performance, and recommending training as needed.
5% - Other duties as assigned.
III. QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : (required/minimum) Work requires a Bachelor's degree.
Experience : (required/minimum) Work requires 5 years progressive experience in a computer-related field, including 1 year of supervisory experience. Proven ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and deliver results. Proven experience at developing disaster recovery plans and procedures as well as expertise at tracking and reporting on key metrics. Experience working in SAN/Blade server environments.
Education : (preferred) Master's degree in technology related field, certifications including Microsoft, Cisco, and VMware
Experience: (preferred) 10+ years experience running Cisco and Windows systems. Master of all technologies listed above.
