RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the operations of all network technologies, including the LAN/WAN, messaging, data, voice and wireless networks, and oversee application and infrastructure support for all engineering groups. Plan and manage the administration of IGT’s local area networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), servers, remote access equipment, personal computing and related e-mail and other messaging systems and software. Ensure maximum network availability and performance and implement internal network and communications controls and verify compliance with IGT’s IS standards, statutory and regulatory requirements. Review and analyze software and hardware needs to and recommends changes and upgrades to meet business requirements. Plan for new or upgraded network, telecommunications and personal computing hardware and software technologies. Plan, design, and manage telephony environment including VoIP, IP QOS, call center, voice mail, ACD’s and messaging centers. Manage the review, implementations, maintenance and updates of security software, as well as processes and procedures. Responsible for data center server racking and machine installation and evaluate help desk surveys, user comments and management comments and adjusts operating policies and procedures to enhance satisfaction. Act as 4th level support for IGT’s internal user support personnel and assist and mentor user support personnel with the troubleshooting of complex problems and maintain and keep current a repository of technical architecture framework and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required. 7 to 10 years of experience in network technology and typically has 3 to 5 years supervisory or management experience. Must have advanced basic knowledge of/skills in the content areas of computer and communications networks, router and switch configuration and management, large, multiple platform networks operating systems and open systems protocols, and experience with multiple site networks containing over several hundred nodes, configuration of infrastructure of WAN, LAN, MAN , wireless, VoIP, operating systems, hardware and storage area network components and project management using standard PMI methodology. Must be able to convert advanced in-depth level technology trends and issues into meaningful, understandable business issues that are actionable.
