JOB SUMMARY: This is an outside sales position that is responsible for the profitable growth of revenue through the acquisition of new business within an assigned geographic territory.
: Serves as the point person for prospect development and acquisition in the areas of investor relations and compliance sales.
: Sells in high-rejection situations in a consultative manner to decision makers.
: Performs cold-calling to qualify and develop sales leads.
: Develops sales proposals and make presentations.
: High level negotiations and ability to close package deals.
: Leads demos of products in order to acquire revenue.
: Builds strong and broad relationships with multiple points of contact at each prospect (e.g., Investor Relations Officer, Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel, Vice President Sales, etc.) based upon the ability to add value to their business.
: Networks within local geography or industry focus. Attends relevant tradeshows and events.
: Works collaboratively with all PR Newswire departments (e.g., Account Managers, New Business Development Reps, PRN & Vintage Operations, Finance, etc).
: Fully satisfies the company's and their manager's expectations related to sales activity (e.g., calls per day, proposals per week, meetings per week, etc.), behavior, reporting (sales activity, opportunity pipeline management, prospect profiling, etc.), and administration.
: Bachelor's Degree required
: At least three years of successful sales experience with demonstrated ability to exceed assigned quotas through retention and expansion and to meet sales activity and behavior expectations
: Proven track record as a top sales performer with competitive account acquisition.
: Ability to sell a service in both short and long sales cycle.
: Ability to work effectively in high pressure, competitive and multiple task environments.
: High attention to detail.
: Proficient with sales force automation tools (ex. Siebel, Salesforce.com, Goldmine, etc.)
: Ability to travel to client sites daily, with the potential for 20% - 40% overnight travel
: Valid driver's license required
: Excellent networking, relationship building, communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
: Keen interest in business news
: Understanding of investor relations, compliance, multimedia and social media
