The New Product Development(NPD) specialist will ensure that strategic sourcing supports the New Product Development process; suppliers will be involved at the appropriate stages of the product development cycle.
Work with the individual design project managers to stay abreast of the key project activities and time lines.
Assure that the appropriate Strategic Sourcing Specialist is involved with identifying strategic suppliers for the Strategic Sourcing Specialists.
Facilitating the flow of information from Sourcing to the Design Teams to ensure that the appropriate costs for tooling and components are available as needed.
Providing cost effective solutions for design opportunities.
Hosting the Supplier Application Review as required by the NPD Process. Ensure effective make/buy decisions.
Work with Supplier Development to complete monthly risk assessment of new product launches.
Ensure that the Supplier Development team is involved at the appropriate times during the design process to define and address areas of risk to a successful product launch.
Ensure completion of the Sourcing NPD checklist.
Identify component harmonization and volume adjustments to strategic sourcing specialists.
Facilitating the flow of information from Sourcing to the Design Teams.
Keeping abreast of key project activities and time lines.
Monthly risk assessment of new product launches.
