The purpose of the Night Auditor is to ensure that the daily postings are accurate and balanced and to ensure accurate recording and reporting of revenue and other financial and statistical information.
Specific Duties, Activities & Responsibilities:
The Night Auditor is responsible for the day end reports and reconciliation of revenues deposited by the front desk staff. The Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all postings that occur throughout the day. The Night Auditor prepares all reports for the next day arrivals and departures as well as advising of no show guests and the allocation of forfeited advance deposits. The Night Auditor is responsible for the courteous and efficient operation of the front desk and creating positive and memorable vacation experiences for our owners/guests. The Night Auditor will perform Front Desk duties including but not limited to: checking guests in/out, making reservations, assisting and following up with guest questions, requests and concerns, answering and transferring telephone calls using proper telephone etiquette, accurately posting charges and payments, balancing cash drawer and end of shift reports and any other duties assigned by the Manager. The Night Auditor is responsible for problem resolution during their shift and responsible for communicating courteously and efficiently with other departments to ensure a smooth response to guest requests and challenges.
Essential Functions and Tasks
To reconcile front desk deposits for each associate.
Balance cash drawers and verify that each drawer is at its set amount for the day. Verify credit card terminals are batched and that terminal totals match with cashier audit reports.
Verifying correct room rates are being posted. Running all steps of Night Audit and maintain printouts in for monthly records. Dispersing Daily Reports to management. Review pending issues for housekeeping for the next day shift.
Check Guests in/out in the most efficient and courteous manner. Collect balances and post appropriate room charges.
Answer and transfer calls from the switchboard using proper telephone etiquette. Answer guest questions about local restaurants and attractions. Give accurate directions to the resort and local attractions. Coordinate with all other departments to ensure a smooth response to guest’s requests.
Work together with evening security to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for guests. Dealing with incidents and guests needs during third shift and reporting to management any resort issues that need to be addressed.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1 Year Customer Service. 1 Year Night Audit/Basic Accounting preferred.
Must be able to work independently and have a good work ethic.
Able to interact with a wide range of people and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
PC proficient and able to adapt to an ever-changing work environment.
