The Larkspur Landing, South San Francisco, CA, is searching for a team-oriented, results-driven professional to join the team as Night Auditor .

The Larkspur Landing brand provides extended stay accommodations with a host of complimentary services and conveniences designed with today’s business traveler in mind.

Position Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for processing and reporting daily transactions and supervising hotel overnight . Incumbent must utilize available resources to provide excellent Guest Satisfaction. The Night Auditor will m eet or exceed productivity standards, taking corrective action as needed to ensure standards are maintained. Work hours/days vary a s dictated by business needs, and may include weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Service

Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and in a professional manner, informing guests of hotel’s facilities at check-in. Have a thorough knowledge of any express check out procedures.

Handle guest issues, complaints, and requests and pro-actively resolve in a manner satisfactory to both the guest and the hotel.

Have working knowledge of reservations and yield management procedures - take same day reservations and make accurate future reservations when necessary. Know cancellation and walked guest procedures and be able to perform them if needed.

Record all information related to guest wake-up calls into wake-up call log and complete necessary arrangements to ensure that wake-up calls are made on schedule.

Verify and transmit registration cards for arriving guests.

Answer guest questions regarding local area facilities and be able to give proper directions to these areas.

Revenue & Financial

Assist in the verification, balancing, and revenue maximization of the hotel’s availability.

Finalize transactions completed during the day. Create and/or print required reports, file or transmit as directed, and process credit card transactions.

Verify each front desk shift’s transactions, credit card and cash deposits, and report any discrepancy to the FOM or AGM.

Balance room charges, cash, checks, and credit cards if applicable.

Prepare folios for departing guests.

Practice proper cash handling procedures and be able to file and post all charges to guest folios and ledger accounts.

Miscellaneous

Notify Housekeeping and Maintenance of any reported problems with rooms or grounds.

Coordinate security problems with the appropriate team members.

Have thorough knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and be able to execute them when necessary.

Maintain hotel key security system, including the proper records for assigning team member keys.

Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior hotel and auditing or accounting experience preferred.

Language Skills: Read, write, and speak verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

Technical Skills: Basic computers skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, and email. Ability to calculate totals, discounts, and adjustments, balance reports, and identify and correct discrepancies.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report or schedule form.

Other Skills & Abilities: Experience in meeting deadlines and multiple priorities of business demands as required. Possess basic knowledge of business contracts. Able to work with little or no supervision. Operate office equipment such as, but not limited to, printers, fax machine and copiers.
