Job Summary: This position supports our store in the areas of product maintenance and customer service. This fast-paced, project-oriented position assists customers and has checking responsibilities, while ensuring stocking productivity is maintained.
Specific Job Duties:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Efficiently stocks shelves with products.
Performs shelf maintenance.
Promptly discards any products that do not meet HACCP and Department of Health standards, or appear less than presentable under Metropolitan Market’s quality expectations.
Provides outstanding customer service and readily communicates product information to increase sales and best service customers.
Accurately and efficiently performs checking duties; including proper cash handling.
Effectively deters loss, internal and external.
Performs light housekeeping duties within the store.
Participates in physical inventories and practices inventory control.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Grocery Manager and/or Store Director team.
Skills Required / Qualifications:
Candidates will be selected from applicants having the best combination of the following qualifications:
Proven experience working within a grocery department preferred.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Superior communication skills.
Demonstrates a high-level of self-motivation; takes initiative; problem solves.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Proven ability to follow directions and apply feedback.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts.
Minimum of 18 years of age required.
