NIGHT SECURITY OPERATIONS MANAGER, Division of Student Life (DSL)-Housing, to be responsible for security, operational functions, human resources, and facility maintenance. Will oversee the security and operational needs in all undergraduate and graduate living spaces for the evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday periods; and be responsible for the direct supervision of night watch/dormitory patrol personnel in keeping security of all housing facilities a top priority. This includes nightly supervisory tours to support and coach team members as well as initiate and follow through on disciplinary action. Will report to the assistant director of housing for evening and night operations and work collaboratively with all members of the DSL, Facilities, MIT Police, and other administrative offices as part of an overall institutional effort to provide integrated and seamless service to residents.
REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree; a minimum of five years' experience in the administration of college/university facilities management services, including supervision of building maintenance and security procedures; supervisory experience; excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities; strong planning and problem solving skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and perform as a first responder to offer direction and support for operational, security, or medical emergencies; and strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in union labor relations useful. Experience that emphasized security analysis and policy and procedures is preferred. MIT-00009272-O
This position is classified as essential personnel. The schedule for the position is Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 4:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. and Thursday and Friday, 12:00 to 8:00 A.M. Will work holidays and be required to provide additional coverage on other shifts as needed.
