DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the daily cooking, baking and preparing of student lunches. Serve morning and afternoon snacks; along with breakfast when applicable. Maintain the kitchen in a clean and sanitary conditions at all times, and posses the knowledge of safe food handling by meeting all health standards. All specific duties cannot be listed and responsibilities will change accordingly as the need arises. The Cook will be responsible for accomplishing unforeseen tasks that relate to assigned functions and maintain an attitude of cooperation with all employees, members and guests Purchase food from the market along with various duties.

DUTIES

Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:

Plan and organize food preparations to meet fixed schedules.
Operate a variety of appliances used in large quantity food preparation.
Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Follow oral and written directions.
Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work.
Maintains quality standards
Properly operate, handle and clean all equipment, utensils and machinery.

Be familiar with all regulations and requirements as set forth by health department and other governmental and institutional departments.

Maintains clean and organized work environment.

Receives and properly stores equipment and food items.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalency

Must have proper health and food handling credentials

EXPERIENCE

3 year experience in cooking or baking food stuffs in large quantities in a restaurant or cafeteria.
