Performs Quality Control on equipment/radiopharmaceuticals; administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients intravenously, orally or by inhalation. Performs imaging procedures, maintains reliable records under guidelines of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Performs on-call duties. Attends Quality Assurance Improvement Education Program and complies with MMC’s Performance Standards. Demonstrates patient care and safety by observing patient’s condition at all times. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
Graduate of approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Certification by the State of N. J., Dept. of Environmental Protection and Energy and registered by the ARRT or NMTCB. Ability to interact well with patients and perform intravenous injections.
Work Environment and Hazards:
Pleasant surroundings; however, there are no windows or control over atmospheric conditions (i.e., poor ventilation-too hot/too cold). Exposure to smells and noises.

Interacts with customers within and outside the department on technical and operational issues.
