The maximum salary that can be paid for this position will be $72,000
Oversee the Quality Management/Quality Improvement activities of the AIDS Care Unit, including supervising three staff (50%) – HIV care should be both available and of high quality. Manage quality improvement activities; assure that measurable outcomes are in place and monitored regionally; establish outcomes addressing issues of health and wealth disparities among people living with HIV; locate and share best practices in the field related to patient care, treatment and treatment adherence; provide input for continuous improvement with Prevention Epidemiologists in ongoing development of ‘dashboard’ metrics.
Coordinate the Bridge Counseling activities as performed by DIS/Bridge Counselors (in conjunction with the SPNS-LINK aware) (45%) – Bridge Counseling serves a critical role in linking and keeping people living with HIV in care. Develop protocols for determining out-of-care clients and their return to care, provide liaison activities with state, regional and county Bridge Counselors; supervise the bridging work of staff in the field; assure the follow up of clients with unmet need (those lost to care).
Advise the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) (5%) – Program provides life-sustaining medications to low-income people living with HIV disease. Continue the development of guidance about the importance of treatment adherence; oversee field chart audits by ADAP staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to prevent and control the spread of HIV disease and provide HIV/AIDS care services; Knowledge of short and long-range objectives for health activities and outcomes addressing HIV/AIDS care; skill in implementing techniques used in carrying out activities that address HIV/AIDS medication/care; ability to develop advanced program goals and assure these are carried out, knowledgeable about medical care issues and management, particularly as they relate to HIV/AIDS infection.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
If no one meets the advanced skill set management may consider someone who is at a journey level.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of experience in the area of specialization.
